Midwesco Launches One Piece Molded Bottom Pleated Bag
New Pleat+Plus Molded Design Eliminates Abrasion Issues Compared to Traditional Metal End Caps.
Winchester, VA; April 27, 2009: Midwescos customers indicated that they desired an improvement in the traditional metal end cap in the pleated bag design. The traditional metal end cap can create abrasion in the recess as well as shrinkage and chemistry fluctuations between the potting compound and the end cap. Midwescos new molded bottom integrates a universal pleat spacing and inner core rest-up while improving our interlocking adhesive seal.
According to Tom Anderson, Vice President of Pleated Products, Our new molded design creates a stronger more complete interlocking adhesive seal for our Pleat+Plus product line. The new design is a result of our ongoing product improvement program that offers an innovative solution to our customers everyday problems. Midwescos molded design provides our customers with longer pleated bag life, which is resistant to the corrosive baghouse gas flow and withstands operating temperatures up to 375oF (191oC). The new design can be manufactured to meet the food grade Title 21CFR 177 compliance criteria and other unique industry standard requirements.
Midwesco will be phasing out all metal bottom end caps on standard Pleat+Plus elements over the coming months until the current stock has been depleted. The change over in mold design will be a permanent change that will affect our entire metal top Pleat+Plus filter line.
